This page keeps GSBKit's owner-only certification work organized. The application itself must be completed by the owner inside official SBA and SAM.gov systems.
Current status: owner submission required
GSBKit may describe its veteran-owned founder story, but it should not state that SDVOSB certification is submitted, approved, or active until the owner records the SBA/SAM evidence listed below.
Step 1
Prepare owner-controlled records
Gather the owner documents needed to show veteran status, service-disabled status, ownership, and control. Keep sensitive files out of the repo and dashboard until there is a dedicated secure document workflow.
VA disability rating or official service-connected disability evidence
51% ownership and control records
Articles of organization, operating agreement, and EIN/IRS SS-4 letter
Current legal business name, address, NAICS codes, and points of contact
Step 2
Activate SAM.gov registration
Register the entity for federal awards in SAM.gov. A Unique Entity ID alone is not enough for direct federal award eligibility.
Create or access the SAM.gov entity workspace
Complete entity registration for federal awards
Record UEI, CAGE code if issued, activation date, and renewal date
Confirm the entity status is active before federal outreach
Step 3
Submit SBA VetCert application
Use the official SBA veteran certification application flow. GSBKit should not claim the certification until the owner has submitted the application and SBA status supports it.
Start from MySBA Certifications or the SBA VetCert portal
Attach requested ownership, control, and service-disabled documentation
Record application ID, submitted date, and current review status
Verify the public listing once SBA review is complete
Until SBA/SAM status is verified, public copy should say GSBKit is pursuing SDVOSB certification and is led by a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Do not write that certification is active.
